Just flew a night sortie in BS2 and one thing that struck me, was the ambient light in the cockpit when dumping flares. There is none! Seriously I would think that just one flare almost ejecting besides the windows would make everything very bright. Especially when wearing NVG´s. Those bastards should make me blind. Other issues where ambient light is missing is when firing weapons at night, including guns/rockets/missiles. I think this is very important for realism.

BTW I think the other lighting effects from the skhval and flightinstruments in the cockpit look awesome through the NVG´s.

Rain is also glowing in the night while you shouldn't be able to see any of it if there aren't any bright lights nearby. While doing it realistically is infeasible by a long shot it would be good if the rain drops visibility would be determined by the lights on the aircraft. If I have navigation lights on, there would be more brightly lit rain than with just formation lights. Light sources far away from camera would have some separate effect where the rain drops would be visible as a kind of "halo" between the camera and light. Rain should also reduce visibility somewhat same way as light fog does. It would be good to have also different intensities of rain and localized rain for dynamic weather. This is one of those not really necessary but would be cool feature.
