Pyroflash Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Well, I have been taking a look at this card here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130737&Tpk=560ti%202win as a potential replacement for my aging HD5870, and was wondering if any of you had any personal experience/advice about it. In particular I was wondering about how the dual-gpu part of it works. Some say you need SLI enabled to make it work, and others say that the link works as one card. Please, be as technical/specific as you can here, the more information, the better. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
EtherealN Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Personally, I'd say a loud "no no no". The really big deal is that it's 1GB units. Don't pay that kind of money for 1GB of effective vRAM - if anything, I would then suggest a two-card SLI build from 2GB 560's - that's roughly the same pricetag anyhow. Otherwise, a single 580 would be a nice option - and cheaper!
