Well, I have been taking a look at this card here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130737&Tpk=560ti%202win

as a potential replacement for my aging HD5870, and was wondering if any of you had any personal experience/advice about it. In particular I was wondering about how the dual-gpu part of it works. Some say you need SLI enabled to make it work, and others say that the link works as one card.

Please, be as technical/specific as you can here, the more information, the better.

Personally, I'd say a loud "no no no".

The really big deal is that it's 1GB units. Don't pay that kind of money for 1GB of effective vRAM - if anything, I would then suggest a two-card SLI build from 2GB 560's - that's roughly the same pricetag anyhow.

Otherwise, a single 580 would be a nice option - and cheaper!
