was fun to upgrade my pc again, after having a old wolfdale for so long, these new i5 i7 intel cpus are fantastic,

did major overhaul and check on tower case fans prior to new installation of mobo

check volts on all psu rails = all passed good.

system specs.

Intel I5 2400 quad core stock 3.1 with turbo boost enabled goes upto 3.4, but with reports of a better cooler 775 cooler, read that the chip sits steady at 3.8 4.0 range.

however i wont need to overclock as the chip runs fast enough for now for my uses. also the risk involed

over clocking to high.

motherboard i opted for was the fairly new Z68 Extreme7 Gen3 mobo, got great reviews , the board is great looking and very well built, and the features on it for your money, is worth it.

once the new sandy bridge ivy cpus come out early new year, this mobo supports pci express gen 3.0 technology, which they say gives a fair boost over pci express gen 2.0

also baught g skills ripjaws x2 4GB ddr3 ram rated to go all the way upto 2133MHz speeds, currently have the ram running at 1600MHz fine for me atm.

also ordered a western digital HD 500GB caviar blue, new sata 3 technology thats available on this motherboard will take advantage of as well, however i would have loved to have baught a ssd drive, but these are still sitting at ridiculous price ranges atm, so i opted for next best thing seams the wd drive is fine for my use and budget.

only thing atm letting me down is my older nvidia gtx260oc card, but later i will upgrade to a faster card soon enough.

all running inside good.
