kristenburnout Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hi! This is my first post on this forum! I bought Black Shark 1 almost a year ago, but i found it too overwhelming, so I uninstalled it. But a month ago, I installed it again, and had a good time! I then upgraded my pc to a quite good state. Here you go: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Graphics card: XFX Radeon 6950 2gb Windows 7 ultimate 64bit RAM: 4gb My problem is that games like Rise of flight at almost full settings runs silky smooth, at about 60 fps, but Black shark at full settings goes down to 20-30 when looking at trees. Why is the performance so bad? And this was only in a simple mission with no enemies. In the "Battle " mission, the frames go single digits! It's actually no improvement over my previous card, an ATI Radeon 4600 512 mb card! Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)
EtherealN Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 First of all, FPS is not necessarily a question of the graphics card. Have you tried reinstalling Dx9c June '10 and Microft C++ redist? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67747 It's the FAQ for A-10C, but the links for those are in there and they might apply - if nothing else, good to know they're in good shape. Have you tried reducing all settings to low? If so, what are the results? Tango Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hi, I have a similar rig to you (check my sig), and get similar performance. I run DCS:BS at 1600x1200, with high AA (though interestingly low or even no AA makes very little difference). Does the sim run SMOOTH? I find this is critical. It doesn't appear that effects or number of objects in view really has an impact on perf either. I had low perf and was trying to find why after I first installed it. I think it is related to view distance/trees/water, but not sure. It never goes below 30 now, even in a busy MP environment, and it remains smooth even when several MP helis are popping flares, which is more important than raw FPS, IMHO. Can you post your graphics config, and state how the drivers are configured? I'm running driver version 11.7 IIRC. Best regards, Tango.
StoOopiD Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 i notice BS2 runs better in full screen mode than windowed mode make sure the full screen box is checked [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Crosshair VIII hero wifi, 3800x w/ Enermax 360 AIO cooler (push-pull), 32gigs DDR4 Ripjaws 3600, Win 10 home on a Plextor PCI-E x4 3gb/s HD, EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 ultra+, Soundblaster Z Rift S, M$FFB2, CH Pro throttle, Saitek pedals BS2, A10C, P51D, SPITFIRE, FC3, Uh-1H, F86, Mi-8MTV2, SA342, MIG21-bis, AV8BNA, F14, F16, FA-18C, SUPERCARRIER
kristenburnout Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 Thank you for your answers. I istalled the dx9 and c++ files, and my performance got better, but only by maybe 3 fps. And yes, I am running 1.02. I don't have stutters by the way.
