I do a little bit of Arduino development.

As such I was buying some new gear - specifically an Arduino unit that's compatible with the Google at Home project and my new Samsung Google Nexus Phone. I came across this:

It looks great. C# and the .NET development environment, comes with all sorts of input and output options and one assumes, as per Arduino, can communicate with a PC. It could be worth a look for those who are interested in this sort of stuff, I've already asked for one from She Who Must Be Obeyed (AKA The Fun Monitor) for Christmas.

Jase.

p.s. I have no affiliation to either the developers of FEZ or http://www.CoolComponents.co.uk in case any takes this to be spam, just in case :)

Will do.

Thinking about a FEZ Panda II now too. Its much cheaper and very good too. Also .NET so very programmable.
