Ho all,

Curious as to how accurate it is that all the in-game startup checklists and procedures I've seen don't test any of the manual/backup flight controls at all. At least in BMS Falcon checking the backup flight controls is a big part of the startup checklists.

Is this accurate as far as real-world A-10 operation?

Thanks!

Generally speaking, MRFCS is only checked when you anticipate actually using it during flight.

For instance: during training sorties when you plan on switching to MRFCS for familiarization, or during a Functional Check Flight (FCF) that is required after performing certain maintenance procedures related to the flight controls and/or hydraulics.

Blue is correct...and only certain pilots are qualified to conduct FCF flights. And even when we launch a jet for an FCF flight manual reversion isn't checked in the ground. What people don't understand here is manual reversion is the last resort before ejecting. I only recall manual reversion being used a couple times and if memory serves me they made it home but the jet didn't have th best landing.
