PeterP
Got maybe 1-2 more fps in SoftTH!! Standing at airport gives a low fps, 8-9 fps!! Was trying to land only using throttles!! Did succeed, but could not hold it straight down runway... So I went of in the dirt... But managed to turn 180 degrees and land from 16000 m? or feet? I did run it with HIGH settings before, now LOW, and I don't see much differences!! Damn, need better cards! Ohhh.... Forgot, I use full screen to! +10% is not bad ;) but please post your config.SoftTHconfig and your "MonitorSetup".lua I'm sure we can optimize it for more performance, as - setting a FPS limit for the MFCDs - re-arranging your render to use less overall pixels. - ... PeterP
Had a brief look at your settings... And there is a lot that can be done better! When I'm done you will Have a overall res of 4780x1080 = 5.162.400px without a loss in image quality. (Right now you are running ridiculous 4480x1880 = 8.422.400px...) and you will probably have +10 FPS... But one thing puzzles me : Why you are using three view-ports instead of one for the main-view ? Normally this render method is only usefull when having a static viewpoint and a projection surface at 90° around you (similar like this:http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1372974&postcount=4 ) But when you have only 3 a TH-setup there is no much use for this.... (Even when in DCS it is called "Monitors" - but I'm very sure that there is something lost in translation from Russian to English - and sure view-port is the more appropriate term) ... And it costs a lot of resources... - Is there a special reason why you using this? Edited February 3, 2012 by PeterP
Strix
By view-ports u mean screens? I use 3 screens for my 3D view or whatever they call it. So when I use Track IR I don't need to turn my head a lot to glance behind me :smartass: And I can see about 80 degrees more to the sides this way. I do see the wingtips! :D Take a look at my latest pic and u see how its done. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1388388&postcount=19 I like it big :D So I am not sure what to do... Win 10 64. PeterP
I know... (follow the link I have put in my last posting) But do you know that this is the main culprit for your Bad FPS - and you are simply running out of V-ram because of this... Why you don't put a curve in your TrackIR ? and you will also have no zick-zag horizon anymore. Edited February 3, 2012 by PeterP
Strix
So what to do? Only use 1 screen to display main view? 27" screen. And trow away the rest....... omg, so much money spent on nice things... It works fin until I connect the 2, 8" screens, then the fps go down with 10fps!! I did look at the link and I do not understand a damn thing about it :helpsmilie: First row of pics, are they in displayed in 1 screen as view-ports? Or a lot of screens :megalol: Divided in to five different ports? So if I want to have more view to left and right, can I split my 27 " in 3 parts, middle shows center view and the to other shows more of left and right as I have it now? Sounds silly... I do use a curve to my TrackIR... Edited February 3, 2012 by Strix Win 10 64. PeterP
No - keep your setup as it is ...:) -throw nothing away . But run one-viewport at your three screens - and have a little patient - I write a Softth config that makes it less worse... then the fps go down with 10fps!! that's no big surprise - you added with this also over 3million pixels more to render for your card. When I'm done you will Have a overall res of 4780x1080 = 5.162.400px without a loss in image quality. (Right now you are running ridiculous 4480x1880 = 8.422.400px...) Even if on the most nothing is shown and they are black. Your card has still to put this pixels somewhere - and you simply run out of v-ram. ...There is nothing like a free-lunch in the whole universe.:) Edited February 3, 2012 by PeterP

PeterP
I did check the framerate! I did use the Training/Navigation lesson. With all MFCD about 10-14 frames! Only 8" MFCD about 12-16 Frames! I gain 2 FPS without the 2, 3D MFCD! +10 % is good.... God luck with the files and may the force be with you :megalol: Just for the record: you have now around 36FPS - this is a plus of 150% Who Is the Jedi ?! ;) I cant thank you enough, or the rest of the community for all help to noobs like me!! What should we do without your help. ...would be nice if you would make a donation to Kegetys at his website: http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/ SoftTH is donation-ware! :) .. and give me some +rep... Can I replace it whit a 24" that covers both MFCD and the gauges that lies in between! Its a lot of gauges :D Edited February 4, 2012 by Strix Win 10 64.
