AngelAtTheTomb Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hey all, More inane editor questions again despite the fact that I will certainly never finish this campaign I am building. Is there a way to force a JTAC to switch directed targets after he has already given a 9-line but before you make your attack? I am making a mission where as you approach a group of enemies one of the vehicles flees from the area. So far I've set a trigger where when the fleeing vehicle enters a trigger zone the JTAC assigns it as a group...but he won't "disengage" the target he's already vectored you to until either you destroy it or you check out and check back in. Best I can think to do right now is a Group Msg from the JTAC saying, "Blah blah blah get the car first etc". Hmm.
Druid_ Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Try using the stop condition on the FAC - engage group advanced option you are using to assign FAC tasks. Use flag x set (x is 1 to 100). In triggered actions when the vehicle flees the area try setting the above flag and send a message along the lines of ("Hawg Flt, priority tasking ready for new 9 line?"). Can't guarantee it will work as with each patch comes new FAC behaviour but give it a go. Let us know if it works or not. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
AngelAtTheTomb Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Thanks for the advice, I will try that. On a related note, I've been having some issues with radio range for the JTAC in this mission. Does the sim actually model terrain masking radio signals (he's in rough terrain)? I have to be right on top of him before he responds to my check in.
Druid_ Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Terrain masking is modelled. Choosing a good place for your JTAC is quite important especially if you are using line of sight to enemy for target assignment. In mountainous terrain I try and put him high up on terrain and on the side from which you expect the A10s to approach from. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
