Does the A10's CCIP Gun reticle (RKT as well) always obscure the SPI Diamond and the Target Designation Cue (TDC), when you fly the reticle over the cue's?

 

Amazed that I have only just noticed this. Whist targetting BMP's, I loose tally on the target when the TDC gets obscured by the Gun reticle.

 

Anyone else find this, I guess its a limitation of the monitor?, or is my eyesight not what it was?:(

 

On my monitor, the BMP's are just a dot, the tracer from the 30 mm is the main cue as to where it is. Then its down to the "Titanium" bathtub to do its job...:music_whistling:...Woe betide if I miss with the GAU-8!

You can disable the gun cross occlude feature, but it'll only have an effect on your CCIP gun cross, not the rocket/bombs pipper

A crude workaroud I read somewhere, maybe even in that thread:

 

You can make the HUD SOI and set the IFFCC as SPI (TMS down short, correct me if I am wrong).

Then slave your TGP to that SPI.

 

Works, gives you the eyes of an eagle, but is highly "nervous".

I tried it and decided to refine my gunnery skills instead of trying to hit something this way.

Thanks Guys. After more 30 mm rounds ( glad I'm not paying for them!) I think its best to just select the Gun Cross with range. It doesn't obscure much and does the job.:thumbup:

 

Talking of doing the job, the CBU 97/105 as implemented in A10, is an absolute honey! The 108/B submunitions are animated superbly. They eject the chute and deploy exactly like this ;-

 

 

It just doesn't get more real, what a sim we have here:D

CBU's & CCIP

 

Since patch 1.1.1.1 has anybody noticed that the reciprocal is not visible in CCIP mode when using the CBU's or is that just me.

 

For the dumb bombs the reciprocal seems to be ok.
