Merijn Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Hi guys, Having a problem here :-) I removed the icons of DCS A10 from my taskbar. Now i was looking for the exe files to startup the game (single- and multiplayer) in the folders. But i don't seem to find them  Anyone who can give me the location please. Thx in advance ! EtherealN Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 That is because they need to be run in a directory other than where they are located - that is why the shortcuts exist. ;) Example shortcut from my machine: Target: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog\bin\Launcher.exe" Start In: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog" This can be a desktop shortcut, or a shortcut placed wherever you prefer in your start menu. The start in location is required to ensure that the executables can properly browse the directory tree to find all relevant game assets and configuration files. combatace Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 you will be able to run the SP mode directly by executing the dcs.exe but you won't be able to start the MP mode. For MP you will be have to make the shortcut of simulator.exe on the desktop then got to its properties then For Ka-50 1.0.2 target line looks like this ["x:\Ka-50\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe" --net gui] And start in looks like this ["x:\Ka-50"] Note: Though its not BS2 but should work the same way. Merijn Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 Hmm, still nothing. Any way to create the desktop icons again ? :book: My Rig: ASUS P8P67 - Intel I7 2600K 3.4 Ghz (not yet OC'ed) - GeForce GTX 560 - 8GB Ram - SSD 120 GB - HDD 2 X 500 GB - TIR 5 - Saitek X52 pro
EtherealN Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Yes Merijn, create a new shortcut as per the normal method (right-click), link the two relevant files to a shortcut each (launcher.exe and dcs.exe), and then ensure their "start in" location is as indicated in my post. Merijn Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 How should i do that ? "link the two relevant files to a shortcut each (launcher.exe and dcs.exe)" Thanks for the help ! Irregular programming Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Right click on desktop, new->create shortcut and enter the path to the directory. Example single player: "E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\bin\Launcher.exe" Multiplayer: "E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\bin\DCS.exe" --net-mode gui
EtherealN Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 (edited) See the attached picture for detailed walkthrough. :) Though yes, I should have selected Launcher.exe for that - doing this on DCS.exe is not good enough. (Can't be arsed to re-do the picture again for that though)... And for direct multiplayer link, as Irregular Programming. So in my case Singleplayer link would be: Target: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog\bin\Launcher.exe" Start in: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog" For multiplayer: Target: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog\bin\DCS.exe" --net-mode gui Start in: "C:\Games\DCS A-10C Warthog" Edited December 22, 2011 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Merijn Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 Thanks. I knew how to create a shortcut. But I thought I had to link 2 files in 1 shortcut :) Anyway, it works again. Just assigned a different map to start in. Thanks for the help !! Grtz Merijn. This can be closed.
