I have also in the past purchased Lockon, Lockon Gold, Lockon Platinum, Black Shark..just to show I have supported this genre of flight sims. Now my questions...To upgrade do I have to pay the 15.00 to upgrade my black shark to BS2? I have also tried to patch my BS to 1.01 and 1.02. When I try and download version 1.02 for BS...(and I have a fast service) I can only get 15kbs speed. I can type faster than that. Why are all the servers at DCS so slow???? 14 hours to download this patch. So if I order on line the new Black Shark2 how long is it going to take to download??? AND is this a full version? Should I delete my old version and install the new version or is this just a large patch? Also how can I find out my purchases on line with DCS? Thanks, Lazduc
EtherealN Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Regarding download speeds, you may have either found a time of congenstion where the servers are under uncommonly harsh load, or there is a traffic congestion between your internet service provider and the servers - it might be that the server is fast, but one of the exchanges your request has to go through to get to the server and back is congested. (Think of a highway going through a major city - it might be good traffic on both sides of the city, but inside the city you might have a gridlock.) I'd suggest trying the bittorrent links if the problem persists. BS2 is standalone, it does not install on top of the BS1 install. The two versions of BS2 available differ only in that one of them, the cheaper one, requires that you have BS1 installed. (Effectively you get a discount based on already owning BS1.) If you purchase the "standalone", fullprice, version, you can uninstall BS1 and forget you ever had it. If you purchase the "upgrade" version, you need to retain BS1 at least until after you have installed BS2. GTX1080 ti 11 Gb, Intel i-5, 16 Gb ram, SSD 1,5 Tb, 2 Terrabyte HD, Monitor ASUS XG32V 144Hz, Slaw Milans Rudder Pedals BF109F :thumbup:, Joystick - HOTAS Warthog, Throttle - HOTAS Warthog, TrackIR V5. Jona33 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I had the speed problem first day 1.1.1.1 was out and it was slow as hell, after ten hours it was only 20% done. Next day was 1.5mb/s. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
kmw350 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) I've downloaded the standalone BS2, have never owned any of the series before. The game seems to be running fine, except there are no lessons at all in the training menu. Does anyone know why this is? I have done a search but couldn't find a clear answer.
