How can I gift A10C?

Hi,

 

I would like to gift A10C to a friend to fly online together. Since online play is tied to user email address, how will this work? If I own two licenses for A10, will my friend use my second license to activate his software, then use MY email address to fly online with ME?

 

FYI, I purchased A10C through Steam, and used Steam key to activate A10C which I downloaded directly from DCS site, and actually A10 does not show on my purchases page on DCS site (only BS2 does, which I purchased through here).

 

I'd appreciate if I can get official guidance on this?

At present, the recommendation for gifting would be one of two options:

 

1) Use gift option in a Steam purchase.

2) Create a new account on the digitalcombatsimulator.com site, make the purchase on that account, and then change it's details to coincide with the intended recipient, effectively giving him that account.

 

Personally, I'd say it's probably easiest to go with the Steam option since the feature is integrated there. Of course, Steam purchases won't end up on the dcs site, but they will end up on Steam just fine and since that platform does have a system made for the purpose I think it is the preferred solution.

Just ensure that you select the gift option properly during the checkout there, and have the recipients steam information on hand (I think username is enough - might also be possible to do it via e-mail but I'm not 100% on that - a long time since I last used that feature on Steam).
