pacotito Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Since tax time is approaching and my kids will finally earn their keep. Which gives me about 600 to spend on a system upgrade. I have three options at this point. Keep in mind the dcs series only accounts for about 10-15% of my gaming. I also play games like mass effect, skyrim,bf3, and fallout nv for my other 90% of game time. What would you recommend of the three options? 1. Keep my 1090t and upgrade motherboard and add a second 6950 2. Upgrade to i5 2500k without second video card 3 keep 1090t upgrade motherboard and add ssd. Thanks for the help! MackTheKnight Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) I'd go with option 2 and make sure the 1155 mobo you choose, supports sli/crossfire for future expansion. Then get an ssd prior to another video card. :-) Edited January 30, 2012 by MackTheKnight
pacotito Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 .That was what I was kind of leaning to. At the minimum I was planning on a new motherboard anyway. I made the mistake of buying cheap the first time around. My vrms have no heat sink and its only 3+1. So I've been having issues with the vrms overheating since I put in my 212 evo cooler. I'm also assuming I will need new memory as well. Pacotito I7-5820k@4.5 Z99 extreme4 16gb ddr4 520gb ssd. Gigabyte ssc GTX960 SSC 4gb
