Howdy,

 

I've created a pretty epic mission based around a large battle (300+ units on either side) in a valley. There are 10 Warthog seats already. I'm considering adding some Blacksharks. I can't decide whether I should make the Blacksharks US or Russia, and I can't decide how many I should add.

 

If the BS are on US, they'll support battlefield operations by attacking Russian vehicles on the line, along with the Warthogs. If the BS are Russia, they'll attack US assets on the other side of the line, in opposition to the Warthogs.

 

With 10 Warthog seats available, I'm worried that if I add too many BS, it might impact performance too greatly. I'm considering decreasing the Warthogs to 8, and adding 8 BS.

 

Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

I'd vote co-op. I can't stand force-on-force missions. As a Ka-50, they suck. You can't enforce the no F5 view in multiplayer. And even when everyone is playing by the rules, a skilled target finder is just gonna find the Ka-50s anyway. I always found them pretty quick in a force on force mission a squad mate made.

 

And then consider that the A-10 will be able to unravel any air defense you put up for the Ka-50 home farp. It gets ugly for them.

 

Just put the Ka-50 on the US side... pretend (or wish, if you like) they are AH-64s instead.

Really wish I had data to back this up, but it seems that most players who join multiplayer servers are in A-10s. If I joined a server wanting to fly Ka-50 and most of the server is on the other team with an aircraft better equipped for a2a combat, I'd be hesitant.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Agreed, Russian KA50s and US Warthogs would digress into an A2A fight.. and that's not what this mission is about. Thanks for the assist.
