Create the group as normal, then while it is selected, hit the templates button in the toolbar on the left side of the editor. Then enter the name you want to use for the template and press the save template button.

If I recall right, there's basically two sections to the dialog you get when you activate the Templates option; the top bit lets you load an existing template (and once you've selected the template, clicking on the map will place a new group using that template), while the bottom bit allows you to create a new template from the selected group.

nope just cant gte this to work i wanted to create a template 8* t80 and 1 *shilka. The manual is crap

Page 184 in the GUI manual explains how to do this very clearly, and step by step.

It is a simple process.

Make a group, arrange them as you wish. With them selected, click on create and modify template button.. give them a name..click save template. Done.

p.s if you think the manual is crap go try Rise of Flight or Cliffs of Dover mission editor manual....the DCS manual is very thorough and actually exists!

Yes you can have a group made up of different vehicles. In group properties under 'unit' you can edit each unit type.

You can't create a template made up of different 'groups'. You make one group with a mix of units, placed as you want and save that as a template.

p.s its courteous to thank people trying to help you. :noexpression:
