Questions about The Battle Simulator and DCS?

So I was roaming around The Battle Simulator website and noticed a couple of things. First I noticed that the layout of the menus and map, shown in some screenshots and videos, were like the ones in the orginal Flaming Cliffs. Than I noticed that in the "UAV Generic Workstation" video that the (I'm not sure what they are called honestly) but the little corner cameras in the video look like the MFDs of the a-10 warthog. Also in the "Joint Fires Training by TFC" video the a10c was flying. So I'm not sure when these videos were made but:

What are the technical differencs between DCS,BS,FC2 and the battle simulator?

If the product in these videos were all made before the release of the actual commericial products (DCS,FC2,BS) what took so long to release it?

I know ED had to do some changes but at least in the videos the products looked good enough to release.

One more thing I found it could be nothing but in the "Pilot veiw" section of the website I found this.

Currently nine flyable aircraft (A-10A, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-25T, Su-33, Ka-50) with more under development (F-16, F/A-18).

I'm pretty sure thats been there for a while but If anyone had an explanation for it I just wanted to know. Heres the link btw.

Sorry I might not have been clear of what I was tryinng to say I could find the right words to explain myself but I guess I'm tryinng to say that:

If The Battle Simulator was released and ready long before DCS than why did it take so long for it to release in the civilian market?
