Pikey Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 P51 AI, I set them to CAP and shoved a civvy plane and off they went (I wanted to see how they got on) They will chase until about 0.6nm and then the lead aircraft will break right and high for apparently no reason! Lead aircraft did this twice. The target eventually turned and they closed sufficiently to kill. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I'd be interested in a track of this behaviour. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Pikey Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 So, due to http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87606 I can't post a track but I've reproduced the problem 100%, here is the instructions and exactly what happens: Put a P51 over 1nm behind a plane, i used a civil Yak40. Put himon fighter sweep, CAP even worked. At 0.6nm the P51 breaks high and right before swinging back in and pursuit begins again. He'll be back at 1.0nm according to labels. He got to 0.6nm and broke high and right again but had closed somewhat. The third time he got to 0.5nm, opened fire and then decided to break high and right again. Having got over the magical threshold he stayed on target and downed it. Try it out, I can't do a track because of the bug on my UI. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Pikey Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Here ya go. Tested, 0.6, break right + high, roll and return. 0.6nm opened fire for three seconds and mid firing repeated. 0.6nm opened fire for ages and mid firing repeated. It will eventually kill it, but the AI is doing something weird. Bet you thought I was kidding!fornate.miz ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
