I was hit by a SAM which caused a fire in one of my engines.

Has the SU-25T got any fire extinguishers installed for it's engines ???.

Have looked through all the key assignments in the controls section and can't seem to find anything listed.

There are options for shutting down the engines, so maybe it can be done that way ???..

Anybody have an ideas ?..

Well, for me it always worked to just shut down the engine which is on fire. To do so, press RALT + END, for the left engine and RCTRL + END for the right engine. Basically the same as in DCS A10C. If there's any other way to stop the fire i'd like to know :)

Ok thanks, i'll give that a try next time i have an engine fire...

I've got the above two key bindings mapped on my HOTAS now...

Cheers...

Welcome to one of my little pet hates about the Su25 (and T) a la Eagle Dynamics: complete lack of fire extinguishers, unlike the actual aircraft. When an engine catches fire, your only action available is to shut that engine down, and in most cases that simply does not work, or alternatively, you cannot afford to wait for it to work since you will explode at some random time in the very near future. IMHO, a pretty major oversight since it happens so often, and the RL aircraft most definitely had them (not that they would work for every engine fire, but at least we would be able to feel something other than a helpless feeling of impending doom/eject now!)

I still love the Froggy though!

My experience flying the DCS aircraft fleet for about a year, now, even using the fire extinguisher(s), my engines always shut down anyways, but I do not explode. I never have tried to relight them, though. I just drop ords and RTB on one engine.

Big problem for me like in BS2, I cannot react fast enough before I get to mouse click on the proper button, and I usually bail. Better solution is to map a button.

My experience with FC2 is almost zero.

:megalol: Also love this aircraft and since it's the only one I can fly at the moment in the DCS world until helkom fixes my DSL line I'm having a blast.

BTW, did Kalahari really make that chirp regarding the pan call the other day? Knowing him I can imagine he did. :megalol:

With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

Ah, the joys of helkom - get the P51, it's nicely done!

Which chirp? He had an engine rollback in ZS-OAP, it was quite a crappy one actually. Was it to do with that?

Why eject when you can feel the badassery of firing your rockets at the enemy then successfully RTB-ing :D :D
