kokoweems Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 How do I make the B-52s, and B-1s carpet bomb? So far I have only been able to get them to lob a single bomb and then they leave.

walker450 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 When I tried this they dropped all of their bombs at once. I rather have them drop them with a very slight delay... to leave a trail of destruction, not just a whole bunch of bombs hitting one spot. Could someone please describe how to make them simply fly in and attack a target all in the same run? When I set them up to attack they first overfly the target, turn around, overfly the target again, and drop their bombs. Speedpad for Inputs | My Simpit | Joystick Damper Mod

Here, this works: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=66170&stc=1&d=1337421261 Basically, you just use a "ground attack" mission, the "bombing" task as a waypoint or triggered action, select weapon type as "bombs", and expend to "expend all". Though, if left on "auto", they may expend all anyway. Not sure. Better to specify and tell the AI exactly what you want them to do if you're not sure.B-52 bombing.miz Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Backy 51 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Speed, I get that overfly the target alot! And the AI aircraft flys a damn overhead pattern back to a weapons release. How do I get precise TOT control of AI aircraft? This drives me nuts when designing missions. I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

So just make sure the waypoint which has the order to attack in it is far enough away from the actual target that the AI has time to lineup efficiently. Backy 51 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 How far out? 10, 15, 20NM? I see there is a new "direction from" azimuth rotary wheel in the bombing action settings. What exactly is this and/or how can it be used? Whenever the AI are told to do something at a specific location, that location sort of acts as a new waypoint. What exactly is this and/or how can it be used? Depends on the unit I think. But just experiment a little bit with it so the unit has a flight path that is efficient and makes sense. The direction from simply defines where the attack comes from. The unit will line up with the desired attack direction and proceed with the attack. To use it click the checkbox next to it and set the desired azimuth. Without it checked I think the unit attacks based on the orientation of the WP with the order to attack to the target.Carpet_bomb.miz The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
