Description: Whenever I try start FC2 in Multiplayer it acts like it is a hung process and starts out at about 24,000Kb. It seems like when it hits 36,000Kb it will load.

This process can take over 20 minutes. This obviously should not be happening, and Single Player opens in less then 5 seconds. This is making the game unplayable for me.

Furthermore, this problem seems to come from the patch. Whenever I uninstall the patch, it works just fine but once I install the patch, it takes forever.

Steps tried:

1. Reinstalled FC2.

2. Checked HardDrive's Integrity.

3. Reformatted Computer

4. Reinstalled FC2.

Problem File: simulator.exe

Game Version: 1.2.1

Error Message: None

Crash File: None

MS Event Log:No Errors.

If I've missed any information please let me know and I'll get it to you. Any help would be appreciated.

To me, this sounds like a connectivity problem / timeout case.

Have you manipulated the lua scripts here?

YOURDRIVE\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\LuaSocket

Have you checked your firewall settings?

Are you running an extra firewall software?

Do you use a router that requires port forwarding?

Did you use any TCP tweaking software?

Some suggestions to look into....

kind regards,

Raven....

I have not manipulated anything. I looked for timeouts with a network program and found none.

1. Yes I have. Firewall is disabled.

2. All Firewalls are disabled.

3. It happens even if I bypass the router or have DMZ zone setup.

4. No.

I sincerely appreciate your help, but I don't believe it has anything to do with connectivity. There is 0 reason (other than to check for a key) I can see for the application to need access to the internet before even opening. Mind you we are talking about before the splash screen and main menu.

From where did you purchase FC2?

DCS's main website.

To my sounds like DNSchanger...could be malware:cry:

Last thing...corrupt installation:huh:

I have nothing like a DNSChanger. Why does everyone think that the network has anything to do with it? From what I remember you can start the multiplayer software without an internet connection. Malware is possible but I really doubt is the reason considering I reformatted my computer and still experience the problem. Same thing goes for the corrupted install. Many times over I have uninstalled and re-installed it to no luck. Even reformatted.

I realize that this is an old game and support really isn't given for it anymore, but jeez...30 minutes to start a game is really annoying. Thanks for the help.

Also, trying to play tracks, or doing any campaign mode will do the exact same thing after trying it.
