Downloaded and installed LoMan 5 Today. You can get it here if you wish.

Anyway. Im trying to use the install in CDDS feature to its full potential.

If someone can check my proceedure and see if maybe im doing something wrong.

1. Create the skin to the same resolution in the "World texture" format. for example su-27 05 L is in bmp format.

2. Rename the Bmp file to "SU-27-SKIN-L-05-2048x2048.bmp"

3. Open the CDDS Browser in ModMan and set CDDS File path to "..\Lock On\Bazar\World\worldtexturesbmp2.cdds

4. Set the Export/Import path to the "temptextures" folder which contains your new skin.

5. Then Extract the same skin from the cdds folder into a temporary Folder lets say "textures-DDS" in "DDS" format.

5. Then Rename the New "SU-27-SKIN-L-05-2048x2048.dds" to "SU-27-SKIN-L-05.bmp.dds"

6. Close ModMan CDDS Browser and open ModMAn Addon Maker

7.Create New Package and browse to the "SU-27-SKIN-L-05.bmp.dds" file.

8. Add to package and add information screenshot etc.

9. Keep ticked the When possible compress textures to DDS format and create your RAR or Zip file.

Now having done all this, reinstalling an original World textures folder I have backed up. When I install this newly created Addon the DDS files are recreated once again to Bmp files but of a poorer quality of the originals and still same size in magabytes. So in other words they go from a 2mb file to a 12 mb file which is exactly what I dont want. Ive looked at other Addons and they do the same thing. The World CDDS Files are unchanged. What if anything am I doing wrong?

try to install mod manager with the second option (additionnal files for lockon)

send me your addon to skypat @ wanadoo.fr (remove space)

i will check it.

btw i tried several addons and installed it successfully in .dds files

several reasons for your problem

- new texture has not the same size than original texture

- original texture is DXT5 compressed (not supported)

- windows system not up to date
