Need Some Help

I'm having problems completing the first mission of Cold War Warrior (Su-25 Campaign). The air defences are thick, AAA and SAMs. Can someone who's completed this mission give me a few pointers. I've read the mission brief to check what air defences the enemy have and am arriving at the RV, IP and strike point on time.

 

I'm setting my counter measures to auto dispense. What altitude should I be keeping between rocket runs. Do I need to change the default loadout? I'm weaving inbetween attacks, but the AAA still finds me from time to time and if they don't one (or several) SAMs do.

 

If the enemy air defense assets were halved, it might be manageable. But as it is, I'm thinking I must be doing something very wrong. Think I've had perhaps 6 or 7 attempts now. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the campaign. :noexpression:

 

Oh yeah, what's more annoying is it takes a while just to travel to where the action is (even with FF).

Haven't flown this mssion myself, but I think you should not try this all alone. How about some AI playmates to give you some support? You could guide them through the command menu.

Thanks, but there are already 6 of us (Su-25) in total. The majority (and sometimes all) of the AI are getting shot down as well. Maybe I am in fact being sent on a suicide mission.

 

If anyone succeeds at this mission more often than not, I'd really appreciate some advice or even better, a track post.
