those of you with T-flight hotasX complain of the detent notch on the throttle.

I emailed TM and they advised not to fiddle, and so fVck them.

Here is how I did it: no pics.

1- Simple, 8 screws from the base of the throttle, off.

2- carefully lift the base cover

3- there is a plastic bridge holding the center mass composed of throttle + spring + spring well (which articulates with the bridge in a center position groove known as the detent (?).

Remove the 2 metal screws, while applying down pressure on the bridge so the parts wont fly off when screws are loose.

4- using wax (any type of wax, but sticky wax (dental- zahne) is the best), fill the groove in the plastic bridge, all the way to the surface where the spring well contacts.

Drips of wax, or a wax bar should suffice.

5- using a sharp knife or a spoon (preferably), scoop the articular surface while maintaining pressure on the edges of the groove (the outside line angle).

6- another alternative, is to use a micro-motor, with a disc, and level off the spring well (male part that engages the groove (female part). But be extra careful not to perforate the well, nor leave uneven bulks of the male part.

7- use a wet cloth , lightly remove plastic debris from method 6 or vaseline to step 5 after ensuring you've made groove flush with line angles of the joint. apply vaseline, to the joint surfaces, or lubrication medium (plastic friendly that is,).

8- this is very important: place the bridge loosely over the center mass. screw one end loosely, then replace the spring inside the well to be held against the base of the throttle handle.

9- place the well inside its channel in the base of the handle, so now you have throttle handle, spring and well. pressure to hold the well in place, then center the bridge over and tighten one spring while maintaining pressure on the center mass assembly.

10- screw the other silver screw in place (tighten, since it is already in place).

11- place the base cover back on, make sure the screw holes (yellow) are visible, apply differential pressure to the edges of each side, and screw in an opposing manner (north and south, then right and left).

Oh, I forgot, the potentiometer should be well in its channel to the side of the throttle handle base, plug it in USB before you seal off the base cover, make sure the throttle is working, but don't try it yet.

It is very easy.

Now, let the throttle move forward, slowly, while checking controls.

if all is good, the throttle should be continuous without a gay detent.

Cheers.

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
