169th_Moose Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Yep, just tried them. NOTE best Performance enhancements for dual-core CPUs. These drivers rocks. Highly recommend you try them out. Don’t forget to remove traces of your old drivers using a useful utility like, driver cleaner pro. Prevents issues all the way. http://www.drivercleaner.net/ Due share your comments on theses drivers. On my system, as above they are rock solid. Cheers:D
Sleek Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 cool..I can get rid of the Beta v. i got  Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
Sleek Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 BTW, Moose gave a good suggestion. I always uninstall drivers manually thru the Control Panel ==> Add/Remove Programs, then boot to safe mode, uninstall drivers, then boot back to safe mode (bypasses any AV Software) and I manually install the new drivers. I don't let windows do anything. I do everything manually in safe mode. Some AV Software will interfere with the driver installation and will corrupt the install. Excact same way as I Install new driver's ;) :icon_jook Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
KILSEK Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Thanks for the heads up. Hi all. I tried them and they did not benefit me. The 77.72's have worked the best for me so far. Using 3DMark05, my scores are as follows: 77.72's w/ 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image=3766 77.72's w/ everything off=4822 81.85's w/ 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image=3454 81.85's w/ everything off=4774 I play LO/FC with 8xS AA/16x AF/ high quality image, 1024x768, 32 bit color, and when I flew my Sevastopol rooftop flight using the 77's I get 17 fps solid. Using the 81's I noticed a few dips to 16. My system specs: Intel P-4 2.8GHz 400MHz FSB Intel Mobo DM850MV RDRAM 1280MB NVidia GeFORCE 6800 GT Creative Audigy Gamer 24-BIT WD 60 Gig HD 7200RPM Memorex CDROM 52X Sony R/RW/CDROM 24X10X40X Antec Neo 480 Watt PS Samsung 955DF Monitor M$ Win XP Home SP2 M$ Keyboard & Mouse Saitek X52 I will probably go back to the 77's, but I just finished d/l 1.11 so I am going to test the 81's one more time in game. Thanks again 3DFlyer for the heads up about the new drivers. -KILSEK
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 well they pwn for me, i still using the betas, i dont see the point of gettin the official 81.85 as they are the same number as the betas and probably exactly the same, otherwise they would of changed the release number. but i got uber leet performance boost 1000+ in 3d05. you should also maybe use driver cleaner pro for any left overs and also for the cab cleaner. never fails for me using that in safe mode.
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 NOTE best Performance enhancements for dual-core CPUs. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D    :) :) :) :) :) :p
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 and saw FPS rate peaks of 7FPS in the CPU tests! Woohoo. Futuremark has said that it's almost impossible to see a single core CPU peak over 5FPS in those tests! i dont understand that, if its the cpu test you are on about, then its the cpu and not the videocard that renders the screen, so i cant explain why the video card drivers would affect your cpu performance ? especially as when running the cpu tests the drivers default back to 2d mode and lower clock speed and the image is being directly drawn from the cpu instead of the videocard. i can say that all of my video tests went up big time in fps, but the cpu tests remained the exact same as before. maybe a bug or glitch.
Guest ruggbutt Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I get strange textures in the night sky w/the 81.85's. I have a 6800GT, I don't OC. I went back one set to see if it would fix that.
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 lemme hook up my 68gt and see if i get same, as i did hear that the new 80.** drivers were causing problems for certain cards, but ive never tried them with my 6800gt.
