fiercetuba Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Would like one of these http://www.ckas.com.au/ckas_thruxim_52.html for a new cockpit setup as it looks pretty sweet. However DCS isn't on their supported software list, and I wondered if you could extract the required data from the DCS series. Website mentions open serial interface but not sure DCS would work or not.....Even with some tinkering... I've e-mailed CKAS but thought I'd ask the wider community in the meantime...
PeterP Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 If they don't support DCS - or their drivers are not what you are looking for ... You can get motion support by using x-simulator software. This software will enable you to read out the simulated acceleration force and translate it into the movement of your servos/hydraulics - just how you need it ! You even can run a whole 6DOF platform via x-simulator with any kind of simulation.
fiercetuba Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Does X-sim support the newer DCS sims? Website only mentions LOMAC but I assume if that works the new stuff should be okay!!
PeterP Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) It is really up to you ! There is no "out-off the box" interface. You will end up programming it to your needs - as every motion platform is different and has a unique movement . But all data that you need to make it as real as you can get can be extracted from DCS. But once you get a profile working : The "cloud-management" of profiles makes sure that every fellow simmer can use your data for their own project and vice versa. Edited July 7, 2012 by PeterP
