SharpeXB Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) When saving coordinates into the CDU I enter the UTM given by the JTAC Name the target "JT1" Then save it with the LSK ?3 Is that number just a sequence number? it doesn't have anything to do with the Mission Waypoints? Then go up to the HUD and select the JT1 waypoint, it is saved as 0/JT1 But on the TAD it's number 3 If I use the DMS with the HUD as SOI to select another steerpoint it changes to 0 See screenshots here I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I don't see targets at this point. Why does the HUD show steerpoint #0 and the TAD shows #3? Does it matter in this process whether your AAP dial is set to Flight Plan or Mission during the data entry? Does it matter when you press the ?3 button to save? Some examples I see this done before entering the name and some after. Then enter the name and co-ordinates into that new WP. It doesnt matter if you're in flight plan or mission when editing the WP. But switch to Mission to select your new WP. Buckram Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 You have to put the waypoint into the flightplan for it to come up on the HUD if I rememember correctly. Bring up the FPM page and open the current flight plan. PG down on the FPM page until you see the last waypoint in the Flightplan, type in the name of the waypoint you created, JT1 and then press the OSB on the right, can't remember what it is off the top of me head... If that happened right, you it should see it come up as a waypoint with your others on the HUD along with Init Position etc. Achieving World Peace - One 2000lb JDAM at a time. SharpeXB Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 I think when you're in the Waypoint page you have to hit the ? key first to set up the new waypoint. ?3 then makes MSN003 when in the offset page you hit ? after you enter the coordinates I have checked what I'm doing by hooking the point after I make it and checking it with the message, so I think that part works what's confusing is there never seem to be targets at those locations i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
