neroroxxx Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, so I was just comfortable enough to do the A-10C campaign on DCSW before the new version, after I installed the new version and I started having issues with JTAC and all that I felt like it was unplayable for me so I decided to switch back to the standalone, I set up my ipad with the icontrol and felt happy again. BUT as i had mention i had started working on the A-10C campaign on world and one thing i noticed was that i never got shot down by SAMs on DCSW during any missions, I was so focused on learning to work with JTAC and to fly without labels, another thing was that on DCSW the SAMs Launch alert often came up but even with labels i never saw any missiles coming so i thought i was like a fake thing, since i would call in for SEAD earlier i figured most of the scarier SAMs were gone already. Now that I'm back on the standalone A-10C as soon as I get to the IP of the first mission in the campaign I get a SAM launch and I fall off the skies so fast it's depressing me. My questions are: Was the behavior of SAM units in the previous version of world (and actually the current world) much different than the standalone version? Is this normal or something that wasn't ready on world? Nate--IRL-- Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Punctuation, please use it. That is very hard to decipher. EDIT:- You will get Missile launch warning for any detected missile launch even if they are not targeted at you. Nate--IRL-- Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Ah I see - It could have been the mission were tweaked - also not that most of the campaign missions have random placement of Air-defences, so they don't play the same way twice.
