wolle Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 As we need to delete the saved games folder before installing world 1.2, I had to reenter all the control options. That's when I noticed that, e.g. if you select P51D real, that all the options for the A10C also appear. There is no point in listing keyboard commands for the CDU, if there is no CDU in a P51D. Only switches that exist in the cockpit of the selected airplane should show up in the controls menu, right? Also, some switches appear twice, e.g. landing gear up/down. Please change that in the next patch, please. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core I7 4820K @4.3 GHz, Asus P9X79 motherboard, 16 GB RAM @ 933 MHz, NVidia GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, Windows 10 Pro
Grimes Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Interesting, my install does not have the issues you describe. If you don't mind redoing all of your controls you can just delete the relevant input folders in Saved Games. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. wolle Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Hi Grimes, What probably happened is the following. First I tried to reimport my P51D contol setting of the previous world version, but I accidentally imported the A10C settings. Noticing my mistake, I cleared all the columns. But apparently all the control options of the A10C remained in the list as empty fields. Still a bug, isn't it? I am not absolutely postive if all the A10C fields where there before my erroneous import, but I would assume that's what explains the difference between your install and mine. If you have some extra time, you can try this out. Not a big thing, but I thought it might be useful to report even small bugs... Grimes Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Ok, I replicated what happened, but I have a suspicion it may be like that by design. Basically there is a file of default settings according to the sim for each aircraft. If the customized file in savedgames doesn't exist it creates it there. If it does exist it it loads the control settings based on whatever is in the files. What I think happened was it loaded all of the A-10C stuff, realized the P-51D stuff was missing and simply added the P-51D control options to the file instead of overwriting the file. As a result you had P-51D and A-10C controls in the same file. When you cleared the input vales in the options, the A-10C commands still existed, they just had no key-presses binded to the the commands. Delete the input folder for the P-51D and it will create a new input file for you with only P-51D controls. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
