MrGeek Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I am STUCK! First: I am using an old Sidewinder pro, so have to use keyboard commands. In the part of the lesson where HUD is SOI, is asking me to move (slew) the little square into this big yellow square at the bottom of the hud (SPI?). I do that, no problem. Then it tells me to press LEFT CONTROL and UP key to select that SPI. Well, I press left ctrl and UP key (arrow) and nothing happens. The lesson does not continue. Like it is still waiting for me to do something. I have tried it a few times (the lesson) and always get stuck in that part. The keyboard layout shows that for the up arrow there are only NOSE DOWN or TMS FWD (whatever that is). Help!
Lovac Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 You need to press and hold the LEFT CONTROL and UP keys. Team VRC Member
MrGeek Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks.... will give it a try... thou I thought I did that.... how long before I get a visual response?
MrGeek Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Ok! Got it to work... by accident!! Turns out the aircraft in auto pilot was out of the range of where they wanted me to PSI. How I found out? I must have pressed the wrong key because I lost auto pilot. I see far away the last waypoint on the runway so I figure I will "use the force" and attempt a landing (from my USAF C-130 Flight Engineer days "Flaps Down, Gear Down, Before Landing Checks Complete) so I figure how hard it can be? As I got close to the ground I notice that the small square was no longer solid (or with an X accross it) so I moved it to the yellow square, hit lctrl-up... bingo! The training continued... thou it was the last part anyways. Yes... landed the Hog... taxi into parking... could not figure out how to turn engines off! Oh well, on to the next lesson!
