Flogger23m Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) I am trying to set modifiers in FC2 (in game options, not STT) with my X52Pro though I am having difficulty trying to get them to work. * I will refer to buttons from their respective number/name as found in the Saitek X52Pro control panel. Currently I have POV2 (upper left hat switch) set to pivot my target designator on the radar screen for the Su-27. I would like to add a modifier that I can hold down which will change the scan range (Display Zoom, - and = on the keyboard). I would like the modifier button to be either Button 16 or 31 on the throttle. In the FC2 options menu, I click the Modifiers tab, click Add, and scroll down until I find Button 16 or 31. I got to Display Zoom and add a modifier of either Button 16 or 31 and then press POV 2 up, down, right, left ect. I go in game, hold down button 16 or 31 and use the POV 2 hatch switch to try out their modified function of increasing/decreasing Display Zoom. However, holding down the modifier button 16 or 31 has no affect whatsoever. Both buttons are indeed working according to the Saitek Control Panel. What am I doing wrong? Edit: Looks like they work, though I must have the Saitek Control Panel maximized in the background (can't be minimized on the task bar tray). I find this very awkward. Is there any work around for this? I don't like running programs/windows maximized when playing games. Edited July 24, 2012 by Flogger23m
dooom Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 i never scroll through the list to choose a button when adding a modifier.... i just click "add" and press the button. I wouldn't presume that the button # in the list matches the control panel. Try just pressing the button you want to use as a modifier when adding it. THEN - when you are assigning a modified combo, simply assign the primary key then choose the modified button from the drop down (where is will now be added) i hope that helps mate.... I figured out how to get the modifiers to work. Though now my issue is that I have to run the Saitek Control Panel maximized in order for the modifiers/switches to do anything. I don't like running around program in the background, especially when playing a demanding game. I also don't like having to run programs before loading a game. If anyone can figure out how to use modifiers/switches without leaving the Saitek Control Panel maximized let me know.
