This is something I've been thinking about for years now. And the wish to finally get such a feature has been getting increasingly higher, as the damage model in flight sims has improved over the last years.

 

Now, I understand that such a feature is a very special wish and probably not very high on the priority list, but I just want to put it finally out there, because I think there are a lot more people like me that would like to enjoy the great damage model of the DCS games even more.

 

Here's what I have in mind.

 

As you can see it's basically an in-game editor which enables the user to spawn any rocket, missile or any projectile directly in the game world. Explosive weapons via an transparent sphere as in the screenshot and projectiles in some other way (probably vectors). Why would anybody want such a feature, you ask? Well, anybody who wanted to train a special case of emergency that wasn't covered by the editor failures might know what I'm talking about: flying about strelas until one finally destroys so much stuff you finally have a challenge on your hand. With this editor you just chose the right missile (or the right projectile), put in the game world and "poof" wing tip gone.

 

Yes, it's a sandboxy think, but I'm pretty sure that It'd be a lot of fun. And developers could even test their damage model with it.
