pepin1234 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 (edited) Hi guys I am editing a mission and I have a problem when I set the units hiding on MAP. I have a flyable mission at both sides. What I want is: 1- Hide the enemy units and activate the friendly units at map ( the goal here, is that the RED/Blue sides players could move the own units, and the Ka-50 ABRIS do not get the possition of anemy units ), If I hide Blue sides units only ( like a single side flyable mission ) then I get the problem that the others Red Ka-50 group can see the others units coalition. How can I avoid that ABRIS get the possition of enemy units with units activated at MAP??? 2- If I hide the units at both sides, then can I avoid the ABRIS enemy location, but then both commanders have the problem that they cannt see the units on map and also the pilots will have not the option for ground units control, because they do not see the units at map. I dont like the Ka-50-ABRIS discover the enemy units with a flyable mission at both sides!!!! Of course what I want is for a logic real mission. because is not real that all the Ka-50 take all the position of both coalition units through the ABRIS Edited August 4, 2012 by pepin1234 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Puddlemonkey Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I think you will achieve what you want to if you set the map view option to 'fog of war'. You set it in the mission editor by clicking the Mission Options - the little button with a tick icon. PM

djembe Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Yes, this is a problem. If your hidden enemy units never appear on the map (F10), despite the fog of war is connected. If you not hidden units, they will appear on the ABRIS all the time, despite the fog of war is active My sense, it seems that the more modules and options they release, more bugs and problems appear. I hope ED can fix these little details soon. For example adding the option in the editor: "hide in the Abris" And another "Hide for all aircraft" (can only see with DCS: CA)
Puddlemonkey Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Try setting the units that you don't want to appear to 'Late Activation'. Create a trigger to activate them a few seconds after the mission starts.

I'm having this issue also. Have anyone tested this and confirm that late activation means it works? I'll give this a go tonight in any case. I'll give this a go tonight in any case. Hi. I do " late activation " and then made a triger TIME MORE 15 sec, for activate all the units, but nothing got it. Are u sure that work, maybe u forget say us something more you have done??? I just like get it the units hide on ABRIS for all the Ka-50 in a both side flyable mission and with units visible on MAP for all player of each coalition. Remembre that in multiplayer we start much after the mission have started. So I made the test with the same procedure and not get it in MP with RED and BLUE coalitions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Puddlemonkey Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I see what you mean. When I started the mission in multiplayer, I didn't unpause until I was sat in the heli. So I only saw one unit. When I waited a few seconds, ejected and then got back into a new heli, I saw two units. That's me all out of ideas. :doh:

But I think we need something we can activate and desactivate because some new pilots need the units on. So right now we can not make a realistic mission with the BS and CA. I hope changes in the next beta. PD: I forgot something important.
