russwg1970 Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I'm an old sim nut from the past where I played Falcon 3.0, Tornado, and Longbow... etc (a long time ago, I know.) Now that I have a pretty good PC, I'm getting back into sims. Anyways, I've downloaded a profile for my ultra cheap Extreme 3d pro and for some reason I can't get it to work. When I load the profile the button commands show up in the controls panel like they should, but when flying it's seems to revert to the default controls for my stick and nothing works according to the profile I loaded. I have track IR and I downloaded a profile that lets me slew the shkval with the hat button among many other things, but as I said when flying nothing works other than what I started with BEFORE I downloaded the profile. It's getting frustrating as I tried many things to get it working.... :joystick: I'm using the DCS World and have the A-10c, and Black Shark 2 modules ver 1.2.
cichlidfan Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 The problem is most likely a corrupted config file. They are stored under User>*YourName*>Saved Games>DCS>Config>Input>*aircraftname*. You can try just deleting/renaming the folder for the aircraft with problems instead of the entire Input folder. The system will create new ones when you go into the control options again. Thanks for the response! I tried deleting the config files for the Ka-50, but it's still not taking the profile I loaded. Everything appears to load correctly, and the commands are listed correctly in the control panel, but the buttons and hat switch don't work while in the sim itself. Should I try to delete the whole input file?

Should I try to delete the whole input file? Delete the entire config folder just to make sure you get everything. Also, before we go deleting more stuff. Are you sure you are playing in the same mode as you are programming? There are two modes for the Kamov, game and sim. There is a pulldown on the upper left of the controls screen. That selection needs to match the aircraft and mode that you fly. If none of this helps my gut reaction would be to do a reinstall making sure to delete all old files. I'll try deleting the entire config folder and see what happens.

So I need to delete and reinstall I guess -- When you say delete and re-install, I'm hoping you mean the Ka-50 module itself, and not the entire DCS World which took hours to download, lol... Thanks for your help again, it's really appreciated!

Thanks for your help again, it's really appreciated! Actually, World is the issue more likely than the module but feel free to try just deleting the module. It can't hurt to try. As for the download. I doubt the download itself is bad since it did install so reinstalling World from the download you have is what I would do. The config files or the issue of game mode and sim mode are almost always the problem in cases like this but... russwg1970 Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 Well I tried to delete everything and re-install.... same problem. Just so I say I did it, I re-downloaded everything deleted again then re-installed... yet again.... same problem! Even more frustrated now.... I don't understand why it won't work??? Why have a profile loader when it doesn't work??? Oh well, I guess the game it trying to tell me to move on to something else.. lol!
