marcos Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Either that or Lockheed needs to engineer and replace the system with one from a F-15 or F-16, atleast those work! That may end up being a more extensive fix than you think. It's often very funny how changing one thing on an aircraft can have a massive knock-on effect.
MadMonkey Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 and the rest of the world knew that the F-22A was having issues long before these pilots said anything. Public knowledge of the fleet's grounding was almost immediate, that was last year. yes leaks happen..no doubt about that. The pilots came out because they felt like their safety was threatened, and released no private knowledge of anything when they did it. that is true they did not tell the world anything except to openly confirm to the world media 60 minutes that the raptor can only be flown for an amount of time before they start unknowingly start clipping buildings & tree tops. So that being said, I'm not sure where you are getting this idea that their statements threatened our national security. *sigh* Also, China is hardly hostile. They might be a threat, but then again so is India, Russia, etc. Openly hostile countries are to my knowledge limited to the DPRK for the moment. the cold war is long over, Russia is not a threat to us for the time being they are once again our allies and have been for quite some time now.. thanks to Mr Reagan...Mr. Gorbachev tear down that wall. random old news: http://indrus.in/articles/2012/06/19/us_looking_for_new_partners_with_pacific_naval_exercise_16005.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/17/us-russian-soldiers-train_n_1525502.html but that's getting off subject & entirely another matter. nothing we do or say really matters opinion wise ..Hopefully the pentagon will move to resolve the matter completely and move along to other issues [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] GoPro + F18 = AWESOME A-10 "Warthogs from hell"
