marcos Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I'm offering this up as a bug: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1540271&postcount=10 Basically autolase fails whenever you drop LGBs using markpoints.
mvsgas Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) Not a bug. IIRC, TGP require at a minimum to be ground stabilize for the auto laser. If the TGP is moved to steer point or mark point it will not be ground stabilize. Also, not a good idea to drop multiple LGB on multiple targets. It can be done but results will not be optimal. In RL, bombs will rarely have direct impact on the target on the best conditions. Attempting multiple attacks in one pass will simple increase the chance of a target miss. In addition, auto lase will be after "x" time after launch of the weapons ( depending on the time set) and IIRC, this time is based on the first launch weapons, not the last in a series. Edited August 30, 2012 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

Thanks, we discovered as much in another thread. Didn't know about the ground stabilize for autolase though. So if you move it at all that ground stabilizes it right, because I know it works with area lase when I've moved the TGP to the target myself?
mvsgas Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 If you notice, on the video you posted ( autolase fail) Your TGP CMFD did not show area nor point. So your TGP was SOI, but not tracking, simply directed to the mark point. Let me look at the other video. mvsgas Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 OK, I haven't taken the time to test all possibilities and read manuals to understand the entire process, but basically, you have to move the targeting pod with the cursor before auto lase works. I used the term "ground stabilize" erroneously. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.
