sjpateys Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I have just bought DCS A-10 and my first impression was WOW this runs smoothly. I struggle to get decent frame rates on high settings with BS2 in spite of having an 8-core processor and 8 gb Ram and a decent G card. After playing A-10 and seeing run as smooth as silk, I can only conclude that the code is better optimized than BS2. Does anyone else find this to be the case? P.S. I run ROF on Max settings as well and thats superb as well.

Fishbreath Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 It could be a couple of things. Potentially the A-10 cockpit is better optimized than the Black Shark 2 cockpit; I notice a framerate hit of a good 10-15fps when looking at a given scene through the cockpit compared to looking at it from an external view. In the Ka-50, you're also usually messing around at levels that the A-10 rarely visits. If you can, maybe benchmark both sitting on the ramp at an airfield? When playing DCS A-10 the FPS is consistently up throughout the flight from start-up to shut-down. I estimate about 20fps higher. I think you may be right about the cockpit in BS causing a bigger hit as this is what I have when playing Blkshark.
