Atomic978 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Hi all. I just picked up a 20" ELO touch screen monitor. It works flawless with the touch interface. My question is now what can I do with it in regards to DCS. I have never used a dual monitor set up. If I wanted to use it for my right MFD in A10. Or shivkal in bs2. How would I go about setting this up. I heard about Helios but have not checked into it yet. Thanks in advance. =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. Hansolo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 This is suggestion of what you can do with your touch screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viOb4YWfCfs It is an old clip but give you a small idea of the benefits. Your ELO screen is probably much better than mine. Mine is optical so it is more sensitive to finger moving in proximity of screen, than what I have experienced with more expensive resistive or capacitive touch screens. I am running Helios as you can see by the way. 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album
GregP Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Why try to run Helios when you could just place it below your main cockpit view and render the entire cockpit on your touchscreen, allowing direct interaction with everything? Check out this video I made showing my setup: a 4-screen, T-shaped cockpit with the instrument panel being on the lower (touch)screen. Would be easy enough to set up with your current monitor...
