ErichVon Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 This subject is not a how-to as an instructional tutorial, but how is it done? I recently installed Tacview version 1.2 and Tacview is new to me. I found where the check-mark-able FC2 selection is hiding, "Record [Lock-On: Flaming Cliffs 2.0] Flights" Reference: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-fc-en.php Default would be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\Config\Export\TacViewExportDCS.lua The latter "TacViewExportDCS.lua" is what TacView installs for the check box. I have several versions of FC2: the virgin backup, its copy, the Stallturn VNAO mod and the efA mod, and soon the ADA French jets mod. But I only see one FC2 checkbox within the TacView dropdown Globe, second selection from the left hand side, of the TacView latest free version 1.2 desktop icon selection. I dragged the "TacViewExportDCS.lua" from my FC2 Stallturn Mod to my virgin FC2 directory as I would like to know what's going on with the 159th and <51> servers as they do not have out of cockpit look-around F-key cheats; but that did not work. I am talking about a post action review, not in-game. Initially I setup the FC2 checkbox for the Stallturn Mod. Uninstalling Tacview and dumping anything Tacview labeled to my Recycle bin, (I did not attempt messing with the Registry concerning Tacview, yet), when I reinstall Tacview 1.2 it installs itself in 64-bit, and somewhere in my C: drive is hiding the Stallturn setup for FC2 and it reinstalls itself right back into the Stalltun Mod. (My English teacher would reprimand me for such a long sentence!) I have not figured out how to get Tacview in my other virgin FC2 or the other modded multiple installations. Maybe a manual installation of the 3 files into my virgin FC2 installation will succeed. I am asking here to the FC2 forum, has anybody done this? And if so, how? I will also contact the guy that created Tacview or hopefully find a dedicated forum to ask questions. Still experimenting with it.

ErichVon Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 Check that all your installations record the flights by modifying manually export.lua and TacViewExportDCS.lua. Each time you run the simulation, whatever the installation, your flight will be recorded. Then you launch Tacview and choose the recording file you want to analyse (with the good terrain) I saw that for Flaming Cliffs, here: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-fc-en.php but I did not know how to copy the files he was referring to. From your post instructions, I brought up two separate windows of Windows Explorer. One window for my Tacview installation to my Stallturn Mod and one window for my virgin FC2 copy. I copied/pasted each of three files out of the Stallturn Mod, one by one, at my C:/Games FC2/Eagle Dynamics/LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2 - Stallturn_Mod/Config/Export/ Config.lua Export.lua TacviewExportDCS.lua to my corresponding FC2 installation in the other window and pasted over the existing 3 files. Then I took my virgin FC2 game online to an active dogfighting server in Multiplayer to see if Tacview would record it. Then ran Tacview and I saw the file for it. I ran it and SOB, it works great! Thank you very much.
