Hey guys,

I know there is a setting somewhere in the config which controls the distance at which you can see the "lights" of cities at night. I mean they are just painted, but they still look good!

I am pretty sure I saw a thread on that a year ago or so but I can't remember what it was called and "night" does not give me any results in search. :-/

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

Are you running latest DCS World 1.2.2? If so default Config/Terrain/High.lua has already been modified to increase distance for city lights textures to 60km, if you want to increase it even more edit this High.lua file using Notepad++ and in line 21 increase to more than 60000 (value is in meters)

townFarDistance = 60000.0;

You'll also need to increase value in line 3 to match it

distance10x10 = 60000.0;

Thank you very much! I had the feeling that the "stock" view distance has been increased but I was wondering what the exact setting was.

Thank you so much man! :)
