Choadbreth Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I am new to FC2, but I have played the whole series up to this. Strange thing happened to my joystick control in the game yesterday. I was flying a SU-25T in a training mission I built for myself and suddenly it became uncontrollable. I played for a couple of hours while I was building a quite simple mission then in mid flight the plane started wildly pitching and rolling. I just thought I had accidentally started some autopilot thing and was fighting for control, but I did get a new plane by crash recovery and noticed immediately the SU-25T was not responding to my joystick inputs the same way. Well, I backed out of the game and checked the joystick's calibration and tested it. I did everything; unplugged and plugged, tested the buttons in notepad for non-axis functions, and all was normal. I went back in the game and tried again. Same thing. The joystick would not center itself in the cockpit and the throttle wheel z-axis was all or none. I tried flying that way, but it was impossible. So, I tried another plane, the A-10A. There it worked fine; perfect in fact. Okay, I thought it must be my custom Su-25T mission. I built a new one. Same thing...no control, but just in the SU-25T. Next, I unistalled FC2 and reinstalled it. Same thing. Joystick worked in the A10, but not in the SU-25T. I double-checked the controls config and they were identical. Axis slopes, deadspace, saturation, curve, everything the same. Then I uninstalled the whole game, LockOn too, cleaned out the registry entry and all the game folders. I reinstalled both disks, created a new SU-25T mission and everything is back to normal now. For how long I can't say. Anybody else had this happen? PS - It cost me 1 activation because the Quick Start Manual says on page 3 there is no need to deactivate if you are reinstalling the game on the same system. That is not exactly true. If you uninstall only FC2 you're good. But if you also uninstall LockOn the hardware code changes with every reinstall of LockOn rendering the old activation key useless. Nice, huh?
