Adjust LOD Scaling for Ground Units?

Is their a way to adjust the distance at which ground units are rendered in higher detail and no longer look like "boxes" on the ground?

When I'm using my binoculars (meaning: view control zoomed way in) to search for ground targets in DCS:A-10 I'll frequently spot a formation of units rendered as simple low detail box shapes. The higher level of detail models don't display until I fly closer. This seems to happen with trucks and APCs most often. I don't notice it with tanks and artillery as much and that may just be because the low detail models on these units have a little more shape to them.

I'm thinking there's probably a value in a config file somewhere that would allow this to be tweaked.

there are individual lods type files where these distances are defined. in latest version they have reduced these values to increase framerate as lot of people were complaining about lower FPS, and now I think they have reduced them too much. Yeah you get bit better FPS because there are less geometries to render for the graphics card, but seing an actual rectange box too close ruins it for me.

3km seems to be (for me) good distance for visual / performance benefit. Also some units like missiles etc have stupidly long range (10km or more) where in reality you woldn't be able to see such small missile even 2km away (maybe sometimes you could if missile was very bright reflectig light and against some dark very contracting backgroud... say like a white cruise missile flying over water... you could probaby see something like that moving it furter out, but the sim doesn't feature this lighting envirounment well... not yet at least)
