Hey guys,

Knowing many of you have X52s here, i wanted to ask who else gets this annoying "reset" at random times when button lights are seen going on and off in an instant and (sometimes) making you loose control of your plane? I am asking this because a few days ago I flew a mission with a colleague and this happened... after a 2 and a half hour mission.

Regards,

Is your stick connected directly to a USB port on your system or are you connected through a hub or extension? I used to get odd things happening every once in a while like the stick going into a shift state for no reason. Saitek hardware is buggy in general IMO. I had a situation like the one you described when connected through a hub and also an extension. Seems to bee better when connected directly to the systems USB port.

I agree with 0utLAW about Saitek has buggy hardware and software.

Well, Pered, may be you should check drivers again. Make sure you have correct drivers for your operation system. I have X52Pro & rudder pedals. I connect them directly to PC (that means two USB connection). And I have no reset issue. Last year, when I plugged them, I was getting BSOD (blue screen) failure. But I don't know reason, it's gone following months.

Although that fix, I still don't trust Saitek system.

I have had the same problem. The cause was the faulty connection cable between throttle and joystick (one plug had a loose connection). I replaced the cable and haven't had any problems since then.

I some times have the same prob. Unplugging and re plugging in the cable Mue mentions above helps.

Many times ago, I wrote to Saitek about the connector that they used on X52s. Connector's total "weight" is more than the "size" of connector's metal part. So, in time, the connector is being pulled down by cable and we have connection problems like yours. I suggested smaller or different type connectors. But I got no reply. Thanks Saitek... (just wrote their Facebook page again.)

Now, I can't find the picture. I remember, a friend glued the cables on sockets. It was "hot" glue with its heater.

During one years period my first Saitek x52 Pro got broken while playing. I dont know for sure what caused it but suddenly when turning the stick around in sircles the Y-axel got lost immediately. I got new as an free replacement but now it is starting to loose calibration mid flight. It gets fixed by fidling with the cables but try doing that mid flight without pausing. This will definately be the last Saitek Stick I will ever buy unless they really make something more sturdy. I guess you get what you paid for.

I had sometimes the very same issue also caused by the cable which connect stick and throttle. May you check that it is not in any way in tension or bounded.

Good luck

I have the same problem. After a longer playing pilot stick simply deflect to one side, the plane went into the left or right roll and never stops spinning. If plane isn't totally ungovernable l have to move stick in the opposite direction and stop rolling, if that doesn't work then I use keyboard and then turn on the autopilot, disconnect the USB cable, wait ten seconds and plug it back. After that I have to reload profile and continue to fly. Sometimes that fail because after that simulation (FC or DCS) does not accept some commands from the stick.

I long ago, wrote about this issue on the Saitek forum but never got an answer, for which I am very dissatisfied, and will consider further purchase of Saitek's products.
