Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 (edited) It's a question of getting accustomed to it, I know, but I believe the way winds are set in the Mission planner (I don't yet know how they are reported latter by the ATC...) should be modified to be according to real life wind vector reports. Just as it is you have to avoid forgetting that the direction is not the from (as it should) but rather the to.... This made me perform very poorly on failed takeoff attempts with what I thought was a headwind of 15m/s ~ 30 knots.... Whow! What a ride, and I felt so bad a pilot :-( Then I realised it was reversed and if the mission was set with winds 150, that meant they came from 330 Edited December 4, 2012 by jcomm Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
VIMANAMAN Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Yeah the wind direction is still confusing me as well, after a qiuck ME design I often do a dry run looking for chimney smoke to double check, and I like a lot of us have been using DCS for years. Not sure why it's opposite in ME?
wudupdogz Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I brought this up long ago in this thread, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72928 back when A-10C was standalone. Too bad they have not fixed it yet.:(
