Shogun01 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Hello guys. I’ve just recently gotten into Flight Simulator X, and I’ve been playing it for a while not seriously or realistically though. Usually I just take off from an airport, and fly around, then land lol. It’s fun imagining that I’m flying I guess lol. Anyways FSX has really gotten me into flight games so I did some snooping around and found DCS. I was wondering if I could get some help with how to start understanding how to properly play DCS games. I downloaded and installed DCS World and I’m completely lost. I start up the instant action > Dogfight the SU-25t vs A-10, and after about a minute I get shot down lol. I was wondering if there is a tutorial for a complete noob that currently possesses zero knowledge of aviation let alone aerial combat? Another question are there any online squadrons that take complete noobs and show them the ropes? It’s always fun playing with others than just alone. Thanks in advance, and any help would be appreciated :) 1
almonds Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 You can download the Su-25t training mission videos here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/video/ 1 "The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity... ...compromises must be made. Designers have to consider cost vs. fidelity and processor time vs. fidelity. Additional trade-offs must be made between graphics, AI, flight models, number of units and more... ...never ask the pilot what he wants to learn because he too will end up building an airplane. Instead, ask the pilot what he needs to learn." -Gilman "Chopstick" Louie
Shogun01 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 Thanks for the reply almonds. Yea I downloaded and install those already. Those are specific to the Su-25t. Are there any more general tutorials like pre take off, take off, basic flight controls, landing, very basic stuff? Tutorials for complete noobs?
Madone Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 There's also a well written manual in the Windows Start menu, ED>DCS W> Documentation> SU25T Manual. Everything is in it! Meatwod Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Jump on to the 104th server and login to their TS channel. There are always alot of pilots on that can answer questions or even do some tutorials while you are being attacked by OPFOR. :helpsmilie: 1
