Teriander Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I finally started a pre-installed mission (Overwatch.miz to be exact) and was able to use commands as Ground Commander when I edited the Mission in Mission Editor. But it appears when I chose to play as Ground Commander when the game starts my Player A-10c never spawns in the game. Thus, ruining the Mission. So I started the same mission again, this time Playing as the A-10 Pilot. My A-10 spawned, and when I jumped into the seat of a ground unit, my A-10 converts to an AI aircraft, and Im unable to give it orders. It goes off on its own and is done with me. How can I have my A-10 Spawn with out me in the pilot seat, but still be able to give it orders such as waypoints?
Grimes Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 On the battlefield commanders screen tick to box "players can control." This allows players in an aircraft to control ground forces. When you launch the mission, select the A-10C as your aircraft. However realize that you can only control the ground forces from "RTS view". If you go into FPS control of a vehicle your aircraft will basically de-spawn or become AI. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Teriander Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 It would be extremely awesome if you can jump back into your aircraft after it despawns and becomes AI. I can see a lot of cases where I would want to take control of a ground unit, but not do so because I'll lose command of my aircraft. That's basically what will happen correct?
Grimes Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Using Ralt+J I was able to switch between the player A-10C and AI ground vehicles. Actually the next patch will allow some control of AI air units. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99109 • Command Map control of air units. You can now route them, set speed and altitude, and set targets. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
