Installing other versions of C++, etc...

Presently only DCS World is installed in my rig, together with the ususal productivity software from MS, and I wonder if installing a product that requires an older version of .net will somehow conflict with the Visual C++ 2010 installed by DCS World. I believe Visual C++ 2005, and even an older version of Visual Basic could get installed by that other program, as well as an older version of DirectX.

 

I am running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

C++ runtimes should work the same as DirectX runtimes: you can have multiple, within some limits: you can have different distributions (like C++ 2005 and 2010), but you cannot have different builds of the same (like two version of C++ 2010, if such exist).

 

Basically, you should be fine.

I believe I have C++ 2010 32 and 64 bit versions installed :-/ Should this be problematic? I don't know what applications forced the install, althougn I believe the 64 bit version was installed by DCS World.

Why not just just try it?

As noted earlier you should be fine. If it doesn't work when you try it, then worry about it. :thumbup:
