Hello everyone,

Since i've upgraded from FC 2 to DCS World + FC 3 i stumbled on a few issues. Any insights / solutions to 1) and 2) would be very welcome.

1), my ADI (a.k.a artificial horizon) properly displays roll, but has reversed pitch. So, if i climb 30 degrees, my ADI shows i'm diving 30 degrees, and the other way around.

Edit: This was answered in http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100199 after i made my topic.

Short answer: it's a bug that will be fixed in the next patch.

2) The HSI (Horizontal Situation Indicator, a,k,a the black thingy hidden behind the yolk that shows the intented flight path for the currently selected waypoint) seems to indicate totally random directions.

This also happened in FC 2 after i changed waypoints once or twice. Fortunately in FC 2 i could reliably use the HUD cross to steer myself toward the desired waypoint. in FC 3, to be able to aim at it i need to be turning constantly, all the time. By turning with rudder only, i never seem to be able to fly toward the cross.

So i'm usually left with F10 + "Me" to get a sense of where i em and thus be able to fly somewhere specific.

3) I decided to test the physics of the new FC 3 compared to FC 2. The result: identical. The only thing that changed is the damage modelling.

I'd like to see a day when airplanes do not fall through bridges.

To save space and bandwith of those not interested, i'm adding these screenshots as links rather than images:

Oh Eagle D whom we love,

Hallowed be thy code

Thy Warthogs come,

Thy CAS be done

On Land as it is in Sky

Give us our patch

And forgive our trolling.

And we forgive those that troll against us

Lead us not into whining

But deliver us from bugs

For thine is the engine, the performance, and the glory

Rifle.

Hi mate,

Not sure about your first question but the second is really easy.

What you have to look out for is the Needle that lives right on the outside of the HSI. You'll see all the numbers on the compass and just at the top of those you can see there is a needle with only the tips visible.

The little dot is the top of the needle and that points to what ever WP you have selected at that time. The back end of the Needle is marked with a little Line instead of a dot, if you look closely it's easy to tell them apart.

The lines that live in the middle of the HSI do not point directly at the WP, they indicate what coarse that WP is from what WP preceded it (long story cut short its a NAV tool)

So when you change WPs the Needle will point directly at it with the Dot facing the WP. When you get close enough to that WP it will automatically change to the next WP.

You can still change WPs while you enter into BVR mode (new feature in FC3) however it will no longer tell you on the HUD what WP you have selected in BVR mode (when you have a bandit locked in TWS or STT), you have to remember what WP you had selected before you entered into BVR mode.

Eg. On Operation Crossbow the F-15s have 3 WPs

0 = Homeplate

1 = BZ

2 = CAP area

If you have WP1 selected and enter into BVR mode and then want to know what heading is back to main plate, you simply change WPs as normal but you have to count the WPs... eg, you have to press it twice to go from WP 2 to WP 0.

This new feature means when you get proficient at giving your Bullseye location you can easily inform your wing men where you are in relation to BZ (or somewhere else) when your occupied in BVR mode.

Just have a little play about next time your in the pit, zoom right into the HSI and start changing WPs, look for the partial needle with the Dot that points to where the WP is. After cycling through a few WPs its very easy to tell what you should be looking for!

I've marked the 'little dot' with a Red Circle

1st WP is bearing 360 for 4 miles

2nd WP is 325 for 39 miles

Hope that helps
