Hi all ...

According to this thread

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93150&page=7

I am trying to connect this little monitors to my ASUS GTX 680 with no luck.

I ordered a cable for "DVI to VGA" but send it back due it was not an active componet. Same to the small adapter in the thread linked above.

My question :

How to connect this 2 monitors to my system ??

I have also a build in graphics card with 1 x DVI and 1 x VGA.

Hi Tom,

Since I'm also lined up for Lindens CDU I'm wondering about the same thing my self. I haven't bought the screen just yet though. Is there a VGA input on the screen?

If so, I've had a couple of other VGA monitors hooked up through a DP-VGA adaptor, no problem? I can go dig out the adaptor and see what brand it is if you want?

It's this one:www.amazon.com/Sapphire-100916-Active-Display-Cable/dp/B003N301D2/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt

God davs

The smaller monitor has VGA and I checked it on an old PC , I could see the BIOS on screen but for WIN the resolution is too small. Okay.

The larger monitor has only "TV IN" ... or CHINCH, the yello single plug.

I found also some active adapters, but they are not cheap .. need two of theme, need maybe a powerline connection ... its all not too easy.

I hope that someone has a nice idea with a solution like a USB GPU with 2 x TV OUT ... but I think this is to optimistic.

Will see ... maybe some other ideas show up.

Halløj :)

Hmm, that is a problem.. Searched around a bit, I wonder if this will do the job?

For DP to Composite (wich is the yellow RCA plug as far as I know?)

Yes, the yellow one is Composite .. known from the old days with video :)

I found this:

http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001W0A9Z8/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk

But, also with your adapter, my GTX680 has 2 x DVI used for main monitor and touchscreen with helios. 1 x displayport is free and 1 x DVI is free.

So I have to convert first to VGA or DVI to use the adaptor and each "converter" needs a powersupply ....

I tried yesterday to run also the mainboards build-in graphicsadaptor .. but with no luck.

Next question ... will the monitor be found by WIN7 ?! Will the desktop or DCS find the monitor ?

Seems to be not so easy ...

I knew how to connect, you just buy 1 connector head,

1. Firstly, you need to make sure your output device ( display card ) whether is DVI-I , since DVI-D is only digital signal , so only DVI-I can output analog signals for VGA

, How to know DVI-D ro DVI-I ? DVI-D is 24+1 , DVI-I is 24+5

2. you just buy DVI-I to VGA head http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62262723/DVI-I%20to%20VGA.jpg

Any question please feel free to contact me

Okayyyyy !!!

Quite a longer time ago but today i connected both mini monitors to my sim computer:

The 4" with VGA is connected via a USB to VGA adapter (external USB graphics card). It is for UHF. Problem .. it drops my fps for any reason. Maybe my pc is too slow to handle it. Helios is also little delayed. The monitor is running on 640x480 due it separate adapter and need no higherresolution for the couple of digits for UHF radio.

The 7" with AV was connected via a HDMI to composite adapter. That was hell lot of money for the adapter but it works. Took me some hours to figure it out but now its okay. Little fps drop so far, helios is acting fast.

This monitor is running 1920 x 1080 ... heavy resolution for this small monitor. But I read in the forums that it makes sense to have all monitors connected to my GTX 680 running the same resolution. So not the GPU, the monitor has to convert the sizes.

Is this correct ?? The native resolution for this monitor would be 1280x720.

I tried also to use SoftTH .. but for any reason I have no luck with this software. My fps drops rapidly with SoftTH. I do not understand it because most people are happy with it.

However ... I am happy and tired now. Tomorrow I will solder all the LEDs from the pushswitchtes .... that will be some hours work ...

Thanks all for your help .. and any tips are welcome !!
