sapounas Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Good day to everyone Read this scenario. I have to GBU-38 bombs (the ones with GPS right?). And 2 targets close to each other (not so close for 1 bomb, need to drop them 2). Aquire the first, SPI etc, load on jdam and release from hi altitude. Seconds later do the same for the next target and release the second bomb. Both of the bombs hit the second target only. I believe that there is no datalink between the bombs and aircraft after release. And the coords are loaded at the release time to the bomb right? :helpsmilie:Can someone verify this and if possible explain if it is normal operation or bug? Thanks Andreas
Jona33 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Can you post a track, the way you're doing it should work. One thought though, are you lasing the first target when you set your SPI there. If you aren't that can cause the bomb to miss long making it appear that the JDAM flew towards the second target. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
nomdeplume Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Also double-check that you've actually set your SPI to your targeting pod (or whatever you're using to designate your targets). The bombs will programmed with the coordinates of your SPI at the time you release the weapon, regardless of what the SOI is. It should say "TGP" on the bottom left of your HUD -- if it says STPT, then you're dropping the weapon on your current steerpoint, which might be confusing if it happens to be on or near one of your targets.
sapounas Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 My bad. I tried it again and it works. You can successfully drop multiple JDAMs on multiple targets with one pass. All you need is to be quick in aquiring the targets. Thank you guys.
