Boelie Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 As the title suggests, I have a small annoying problem when flying and trying to use my SPI. The situation is as follows: On my left screen i have the TAD, the right one has the TGP. I have, for instance, WP4 selected and want my TGP to slave to it. So, I make the TGP my SOI, press and hold china hat fw (V) and it slaves to it. But, for some reason my TAD zooms out in the same instance, even though my the TGP screen is SOI. I have checked my profile for the x52 and the controls in the game, V only has one function and that is china hat fw. And for some reason it only does that when it's pressed for a longer period. Anyone have any clue?
lxsapper Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Maybe the X-52 is sending V and a DX butto command assigned to that function? It's been a long time since I had my x-52 I don't think it used to do that but still.... On the other hand do you have a rotary or slider assigned to that function? I used to have mad spiking issues with the rotaries and sliders on the x-52.
Boelie Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Nope, its just the toggle switch, so a normal button. Do explain the DX button command? This term is new to me.
SmokeyTheLung Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 IIRC china hat forward long slaves all sensors to the SPI, including the TAD cursor. So if your SPI is set to a waypoint that is not visible for the given TAD scale, it'll zoom out to a scale where the SPI is visible. China hat aft long slaves the TGP (and only the TGP iirc) to the steerpoint. Maybe that accounts for what you're seeing? System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
Boelie Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Smokey, you might be on to something there! I haven't been able to recreate it,b ut so for your comment seems to be holding ground! Thanks :)
krazybiskit Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Have the TAD on the left mfcd and the TGP on the right mfcd..make the TAD SOI..use the cursor in the TAD and move it over WP4..TMS up short, TMS up long.. and press china hat forward long..all sensors will be slaved to that point including the TGP.. u cant slave the TGP with china hat forward long when the TGP is the SOI.. if the TGP is SOI and u press china hat forward long the TAD will be slaved to where the TGP is looking.. and thats why the TAD is scaling out on you Edited February 7, 2013 by krazybiskit more cowbell
MatzWarhog Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 When you set the HUD as SOI, and then use the China Hat Long Fwd, it 'will' slave the SLI to all sensors. If the TAD is zoomed into too closely to show the mark/waypoint "point to SPI" line, it will zoom out only as far as needed for it to be on the MFCD. It Shows the line on the TAD to give you reference of your current position to the mark point/way point. That's been my finding anyway. Matz AMD FX8350 @ 4.2Ghz x 8, Asus M5A99FX Pro UEFI Board, 16Gb RAM @1600Mhz, EVGA GTX660 2Gb DDR5, 120Gig Corsair SSD SATA3 Boot Drive, Dual Corsair SSD FORCE 60Gig for gaming, TM Warthog HOTAS and Cougars, Saitek Proflight Pedals, TrackIR 5 w/Pro Clip, and WAY Too much time on my hands. :pilotfly:
